The 6 of November we are putting out an international call to bring attention to the release of the book “Sahrawis - a view of exile” made by the Sahrawi people themselves in a writing and photography workshop in a refugee camp known as “27th of February”.

The day of the books release we ask you to take part in a day of global action. The idea is to paste onto the walls of your city a photographs created by the Sahrrawi people which you can download from our blog (it can be printed or simply photocopied) . Underneath the photo some white candles will be lit to represent the suffering of the Sahrawi people.

The book will reflect the work created by Sahrawi children using pinhole cameras (rudimentary cameras made from cardboard boxes with a small holes in them). These cameras and the photographs made with them were made by the children during a writing workshop in which teenagers and older people took part, giving their opinions about the conflict and making their voices heard.

We want to extend to the whole world an invitation to participate in this action , now that many cities in Spain are taking part, we hope that the news will spread and that all cities in the world will take part, with their respective meetings and demonstrations.

The world has to hear the voice of the suffering of the Sahrawi people who have now lived in Exile for 32 years without human rights in the occupied zones.

The action is taking place in November because we must not forget that it was on November 14 th 1976 that the future Spanish president Felipe González promised he would not abandon the Sahrawi people , a promise that he did not fulfil.

We only ask what is fair, and that what was stolen from them is returned.
